这首歌是电影《卡特教练》的主题曲，《卡特教练》是根据真人真事改编的电影，讲述卡特教练如何将上个赛季只赢了4场比赛又不好好学习的篮球队变成了一个赛季以全胜纪录冲刺入州冠军决赛而且使球队队员学习成绩提高，并且懂得人生艰苦的故事，这部影片可谓是励志片中的经典。

1973年11月27日，Twista出生在美国伊利诺斯州的芝加哥，原名Carl Mitchell。Twista从12岁开始练习说唱音乐，Twista最早成为一名职业说唱歌手是在1991年，当时他签约Loud Records唱片公司，发行了个人的首张专辑《Runnin' Off At Da Mouth》，并被称为是当年进步最快的说唱歌手，Twista的名字第一次被更多的歌迷所熟知。但是随后几年的时间里，Twista一直无所作为，直到1995年随着《Suicide》一起又重新回到了正常的职业生涯上。Twista和另一名来自芝加哥的说唱歌手Do Or Die一起合作的单曲《Po Pimp》成为了白金单曲，这为Twista迎来了突破性的成功。
Twista在取得了初步的成功之后，1996年，他和Atlantic Records唱片公司签约。1997年夏天，Twista发行了专辑《Adrenaline Rush》，1998年，和芝加哥的the Speedknot Mobstaz一起录制了专辑《Mobstability》。随后的时间Twista开始在芝加哥筹划建设自己的唱片公司，1999年，Twista自己的Legit Ballin'唱片公司开张大吉。在此期间的多年时间里，Twista和多位著名的说唱歌星都有过合作，其中包括吹牛老爹Sean "Puffy" Combs，Jay-Z，Timbaland，Da Brat等人，还包括NBA著名的篮球明星“大鲨鱼”奥尼尔(Shaquille O'Neal)。2004年1月27日，Twista发行了个人第三张正式专辑《Kamikaze》,
